About Me

Hello, my name is Cally Gudroe, and I have had the privilege of growing up in Garland, Maine. Those around me would say that I have a way with words, and I would tell them that when you’ve been raised in a town of less than a thousand people there’s so much inhabited space. I have just chosen to fill that space with words. I love poetry, in every sense of its meaning; my room is filled with books, and my journals are overflowing with lines. Beyond the pages, my creativity also shines within the studio. As an avid proponent of empowering voices, I’m recently found in the studio working on my first budgeted film called “Rural Dreams” –a film that gives rural teens a chance to have their voices heard…
Diverse perspectives and open dialogue are two things that I value highly, as in past experiences I have found they foster a sense of cohesion, growth, and success within a community. Throughout the many positions I have held–whether it be a Captain of a sports team, President of the National Honor Society, Liaison of Student Government, or a representative for a world peace organization–I have always strived to hold true to the above practices. Furthermore, I am a proud woman and a determined individual who dreams of working in a male-dominated sport–a job bound to come with many adversities. However, I believe strongly in the power of resilience, and when it is mixed with determination, any adversity faced turns out to be just another stepping stone towards success.
